Beauty Shortlist Winner!!

It’s been a big couple of weeks for new start-up Pod Organics and things just keep getting better.

When Co Founders, Lauren Harrison and Kerrie Field sat down to plan their new business in April 2020 they had no idea that within 6 months of launching they would become an award-winning business. 

Last Friday the organisers of the Beauty Shortlist Awards announced that their Sweet Pea & Me All Over Balm had been awarded the Best Multipurpose Balm in the Mama & Baby category.  If that wasn’t enough to celebrate, all other products in the Pod Organics Sweet Pea & Me range were recipients of the Editors Choice Award in the Mother & Beauty, Self Care category.

The Beauty Shortlist Awards is a global awards program that recognises the best natural beauty and self-care products from around the world. Specifically, the Mama & Baby Awards highlight outstanding all-natural baby, pregnancy, beauty, self-care, wellness and eco home products. From aromatherapy-infused stretch mark and body oils and plant-powered skincare to award-winning maternity gifts, baby wraps and portable nap mats.

Highlighting the standards and ethics of this year’s winners, Beauty Shortlist Awards director Fiona Klonarides commented:

“2021 has been the highest-scoring year to date – that’s to say collectively and across the board – since the Mama & Baby Awards originally launched 8 years ago, in 2014. The standard of entries overall, particularly in the baby & toddler categories, was exceptional.

These awards serve as a trusted, useful guide for ingredients-conscious consumers, and this year’s Baby Awards results are packed with shining stars created by the brands driving healthy sales and surging interest in the all-important natural and organic market.”

With the help of Lauren’s mum and co-founder Kerrie, Pod Organics was launched on-line in March 2021 and to the trade industry at the Naturally Good EXPO in Sydney at the end of May.

Prior to the trade launch and following excellent feedback from trial participants Lauren was encouraged to enter all of the Sweet Pea & Me products into the Beauty Shortlist Mama & Baby Awards.

“Knowing that many previous winners are well known and established brands we had zero expectations of winning let alone getting a mention” said Lauren.

“The Beauty Shortlist Awards attract a very impressive field of entrants and we did think that entering was a bit ambitious. If nothing else we thought it would be a great learning experience.”

Lauren said “While we love our products and have enjoyed fabulous feedback from our customers both in the trial and since going to market, we knew that winning or even getting a mention was way more than a long shot.”

Lauren and Kerrie are absolutely thrilled with the award and recognition. “This award is testament to our commitment to utilising the finest natural ingredients that Mother Nature has to offer. We are truly honored to be standing with some amazing brands and products and making a mark for new start-ups that believe all natural and organic is the future for protecting those who are special to us and our precious planet”.

The vision for the business was born out of Lauren’s struggle with sensitive skin conditions, both personally and now with her two little ones. Her passion and desire to find solutions that were all natural, organic, multipurpose, and affordable led to the development of Sweet Pea & Me, a range of affordable organic self-care products not only for Mums and Bubs but the whole family.
